Description: Discover the playful possibilities of cut-paper collage during this two-day workshop. The experience begins with a 30-minute spotlight tour of Exploring Jess: Beat Generation Visionary, using the collaged works in the exhibition to inspire your own creativity. After the tour, participants will move step by step through the full creative process of cut paper “painting.” On Day 1, you’ll create your own painted papers using gel plates and acrylics, building a rich palette of colors, textures, and surfaces. On Day 2, you’ll cut, tear, arrange, and layer those papers into small-scale still-life collages, transforming everyday objects—florals, fruit, garden tools, even a favorite table—into simplified, expressive compositions. Participants will leave with finished mini works on paper, a fresh way of seeing ordinary objects, and the confidence to continue exploring cut-paper collage on their own. All supplies provided.
